When you hear the word "medieval", what images pop into your head? Perhaps you think of imposing castles, dueling knights and damsels. Of course, there was a time far removed from today's doctors and nurses who wear scrubs, such as Scrubs cheap courteous. However, understanding medieval medicine may give us a better understanding (and appreciation) of the current medical world. Here are some highlights of the period:
1. Medieval medicine included a decline in Medicine

4. Galen was king for much of the Middle Ages

Medical schools and universities often taught his theories as facts, even though they were often inaccurate (they were based on dissection of animals). At that time, the dissection being humans was limited, and physicians could only lead them to support the theories of Galen! This fact alone shows the enormous influence that works Galen on the doctors, during the Middle Ages.
5. Creeping Disease
Although the Middle Ages in Europe resulted revisit training official for doctors, however, the Black Death wiped out up to half the entire population of Europe! Unfortunately, medicine had simply not developed enough to cope adequately with the situation. Society explanations value related to spirituality, many more than doctors.
